Badly Needs an Update

Poorly integrated with iOS 10. Notifications work half the time. Online games stuck loading. Pretty sad. A classic like this deserves better.

Wonderful translation of the board game

Like many iOS versions of board games, this one is provides the experience of the original cardboard version while providing a lot of convenience such as portability, faster play, and playing against AIs. If you enjoy the cardboard version, this will give you your fix.

Pretty great game

It grows on you. The rules seem very confusing but after going through the tutorial and playing 3 or 4 games one figures it out. This game could sure use a nice flow chart or something to make the game dynamics clearer. Also it would be nice to play over Bluetooth.

Great if it worked properly

I love this game on the iPhone. The major problem is that there are still a lot of glitches. Multiple times the AI is able to place a single king and instantly all of my tiles count towards his total and I loose my large kingdom. It freezes a lot when fighting or restarting. If they fix the glitches it would be a 5 star.

Best boardgame conversion ever!!!

Lots of boardgames converted for iOS, but, this is the greatest job ever. Love this game, and love iOS version.

Great game

But misses local multiplayer over wifi

Great but it crashes

Very good game, but every time I move or someone else moves, it crashes.

Fun game!

Great game that I dont get to play that often at the game table, but with the app I can play to my hearts content.

Awesome in any era

A fantastic and solid port of a classic, brain burning board game masterpiece.

Too buggy

This is a great game. However, it crashes almost every game I play with the AI. Seems to happen most when that when the AI places a temple. Save your money until Codito release an update.

Great Strategy Game

This game has occupied my time for hours. I like that I can speed up the animation and get rid of the hints in options to speed up game play, after learning the game well enough. Anyone into strategy board games should like this app. Well worth the price.

Advanced map...

After paying $.99 for the advanced map I played it and it works fine. I decided the advanced was too advanced for me so I decided to go back to the standard map. Finally got the hang of the game so I decided to go back to the advanced map and it is asking me to buy it again for $.99! Please fix otherwise there is no point for me to play this game again.

Entertaining despite its glitches

I love the tutorial; never would have picked up the game without it. And the game itself is engaging and challenging. However, the rematch button doesnt actually allow for a rematch; the game needs to be exited and reentered to play again.

Great game

This game is very interesting, I have almost all of knizias games and I think this is one of the best for sure. It is a little more complicated than most knizia games, but still didnt take to long to learn. The online runs well, have only noticed one bug. Sometimes when you hit the undo button it will take the game back a couple of turns. This does not happen very often though.

Complicated at first, but...

It takes a bit to get the hang of it, but it is a lot of fun.

Needs a couple of interface changes

This is a great game, dont get me wrong. It works great on both iPad and iPhone/iPod touch. So good in fact that youll be playing it over and over. Then youll start to notice the interface issues. Then youll get annoyed by them. Then youll start to hate them. 1) takes 10 seconds at the end of the game just to see the scores. The rest of the game moves super fast, but not this part. Someone thought it would be fun to be suspenseful, but its really a huge waste of time. If you play 60 games, and you will easily, youll have lost 10 minutes of your life. 2) Someone thought it would be worthwhile to save every game you complete automatically. So unless you want to waste time scrolling through endless pages of finished games, youll have to delete the game every time you finish it. Another waste of time. 3) the "rematch" button doesnt work. It starts a new game but never lets you play. 4) lastly, on iPhone/iPod touch, when its not your turn you cant see your tiles or scores. Would be nice to have this option in a single player game so you can plan your turn while the computer plays. Its a 5-star game, but only a 3-star interface. A couple of bug fixes would literally make this perfect.

Lots of replay value

This game is like checkers or chess- its rules are simple enough and the gameplay deep enough to keep you interested endlessly. It really feels like something the Egyptians would have played to pass the time thousands of years ago.

Great game

Great game, but has some clunky interface that takes a couple seconds to work around. Overall, well worth the money.

Get rid of the popups!!!

I paid for this game. I do not need the opening screen to lag, force me to click it, and then at the last minute have a Puerto Rico ad pop up (WHICH BY THE WAY I ALREADY BOUGHT) and take me to the App Store. Take off your popups and this goes to 5 starts.

Great game. Poor implementation.

The game itself is great, but the implementation of it on the iOS is terrible. Load times are slow for everything. Things that look like buttons are not. The location of where you find accept/cancel buttons changes on every screen and overlay. And as someone else has already mentioned, the long drawn out display of the final scores is just a frustrating waste of time. By all means get this game, but be prepared for the UI to test your patience.
